Goals: CONNECT

Goals: CONNECT

New Year's Resolutions were never really my thing. I was tired of the endless cycle of setting big resolutions or deciding to live a new life style and slowly seeing it fade by mid March. So instead I have decided to share with you some goals in process and new goals one excerpt at a time. | part one

  • Create Connections not Contacts

I think we all know social media has its advantages and disadvantages, but nevertheless you probably saw this link on some sort of social media and that is why you’re reading this blog at this moment.

I undoubtably spend too much of my time on instagram, twitter and snapchat, but that’s another story. I find it so amazing the connections we can make with people miles away just through following them on instagram. Overtime you learn a great deal about their life, their likes and dislikes, their hobbies and passions. Sometimes you even relate to someone and maybe a comment leads to short conversation and eventually you mutually like each others pictures often.

The point is, comments and likes is where the friendship stops, at least in my life.

Maybe you can’t relate, so let me give you another scenario.. You’re walking through the store and you see them, the girl that you know from instagram, but you don’t REALLY know. Should you say hi? Should you just keep walking? (btw, you should say hi)

I am all about conversation, I can talk mostly to whoever, whenever. So why leave these friends in your notifications? I am shooting for real friendships. The kind of friendships that say “let’s hang out sometime” and actually do. I’m striving to focus on the quality of friendships. Take time to seek out the people you click with through instagram, it just so happens you will probably click in person.
