Feeling Misunderstood?
Hey Friends,
There are a times in my life where I feel my words are lost in translation. I know what my intentions are, but no matter how I say them, it just seems to come out wrong. This usually winds up in hurt feelings and broken relationships.. for no reason at all. I learned the hard way to never respond out of anger, but rather wait until the situation has calmed and go from there.
The hardest part is when we feel like there is no way we can defend ourselves. The person on the other side just cannot understand! Usually these conversations just end up being me trying to “prove” something to someone else and I quickly catch myself becoming selfish in the situation, only seeing my side.
More often than not, it will work itself out. But, what God says about this is what I cling to when I feel I am just a bit misunderstood.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” Exodus 14:14
In times of battle when we are fighting so hard to “prove” we know best, Jesus is already fighting on our behalf! Why are you killing yourself, sweating, wearing yourself down!? The world can not overcome you, this relationship or this argument can not overcome you, because HE has ALREADY overcome the world!
Jesus knows your heart, he knows your pure intention and if you remain faithful in your character toward the other person and keep aligned with him, HE will fight for you only need to be still!
No more sweat, no more trying to prove yourself, just RESTING in the fact that HE has already won the battles we are facing, and it’s a good thing he is on our team!
Love ya most,
Marlee Hope
