What is Success REALLLY?
It’s kind of funny, how success is lined up for us even before we decide what it looks like. Society has shaped us into thinking graduating, going to college, getting an internship, straight A’s, being involved in x number of organizations, having a plan to move out and start a 9-5 and getting married are all elements of success.
What happens if that’s not how it goes for you? Where does that leave you?
I’m learning that we HAVE to define success for ourselves, because if we don’t, we’ll fall victim to living a life we weren’t intended to live spent trying to gain approval from those around us. READ IT AGAIN.
Do you want to be the CEO? great.
Do you want to be a waitress? great.
Do you want to be an artist? great.
Do you want to be a doctor? great.
Do you want to be an entrepreneur? great.
You don’t want to be any of those things? also great.
When you know what passions God has put in your heart you don’t have to keep questioning if your next move is acceptable.Maybe a better question is who are you living to please? Because if you are living for Christ then success doesn’t look anything like the pressure you are putting on yourself to check all the boxes. Find rest in knowing that your obedience to Christ is more honorable than anything else you achieve. He loves you, rest in it.
