4 Reasons Why There IS Room for you on Instagram

If you’ve been going back and forth about starting an Instagram page to share your passion you’ve most likely had the thought “there are already so many people doing it.” And you’re probably right, there are a lot of people doing a lot of things on Instagram these days. However, that does not mean there isn’t room for you to create too. Here are 4 reasons why:

  1. Here’s the thing, 60-70% of the accounts you are following are probably related to the kind of page you want to start (I made that statistic up, but I really think it’s true). For example, if you want to start a fitness page you probably are scrolling through famous fitness influencer’s content more than the average gal. This leads you to have thoughts like, “there are already so many people doing it” or “I don’t have abs so welp, I guess I’m out.” NO, NO, NO. First of all, the audiance you have is most likely not following the influencers you are. Let it be an encouragement that the girl or guy who is going to save, like and love your content is not following 1,000 fitness accounts. Not only that, but you may be their only source of fitness (or insert your page here) that they see on their timeline!

  2. You have a super power, did you know that? Yep. Here’s what it is: no one else is you. Regardless if you are posting about the same topic or selling the same product as someone else, you bring uniqueness to your page. No one will wrtie the captions you write, take the pictures you post or have the same exact goals as you. No one is you and that is your superpower in this!!!

  3. You have one thing no one else does: your audience. Absolutely no one has the exact same community you will be speaking to. There are people who will relate to you that I will NEVER reach simply because you have a relationship with them. Take advantage of this!

  4. Stop comparing yourself to the sister that already started. Community over competition, a mantra. Yes there are probably a lot of people in the space like you, but a simple mindset shift of thinking of these other people around you as a community you can connect with and get ideas from rather than compete with will change the ballgame. Reach out to them, ask for advice or simply tell them that you really look at them as someone that encourages you.
